Tom advocates for clients' rights to services and benefits. He resolves barriers towards securing appropriate housing placements and alternatives to living on the streets whether its CHAMP Homes, a nursing home placement, boarding house, or a shared apartment. Tom works with the Office of Veterans Affairs staff to assist the large population of veterans living on the streets, on beaches, in camps, woods, and abandoned vehicles. Together they work to secure safe placements and needed treatments. Tom serves an increasing number of homeless teens and homeless mothers with babies who were living in their cars with their children. Your donations to support this work are welcome.

Through these ministries, the Council has demonstrated its ability to identify unmet needs in the community, create a response to meet the need, and engage the community through partnerships with the Council to help develop programs that reach out to our sisters and brothers in need. The Council enjoys a solid relationship with congregations who provide volunteers to staff its ministries, clergy who serve on the Board of Directors, and faithful financial support to ensure the continuation of its ministries. We are also blessed with the support of local businesses, individuals, grants and partnerships with organizations.
